White carbon black is an inorganic salt chemical product. The main chemical content is hydrated silica (chemical composition: SiO2 • nH2O, CAS NO. 14464-46-1). The function of white carbon black is similar to that of carbon black. But it is of white color, so it is called white carbon black. White carbon black produced from vapor phase method and precipitation synthesis method. Vapor phase method get high purity, but the production process is complex and high energy consumption. By improving the production technology, white carbon black made by precipitation method can also get 93-99% purity. Precipitated white carbon black is currently the mainstream in the market. White carbon black has large specific surface area, porous structure, good chemical stability, good oil absorption, insoluble in water and alkaline substances, good heat resistance, insulation. It is widely used in rubber, silica gel, ink, paper making, medicine, daily chemicals, plastics and other industries.

 

Characteristics of White carbon black Hydrophilic precipitated silica powder silica pigment:

1. The specific surface area(BET) can reach 100-240 m2/g with good surface activity. For rubber and silicone products, high BET can enable the repeated fusion of rubber particles with silica, achieving reinforcement. Achieving ideal strength and transparency in natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Vulcanized rubber products containing white carbon black have excellent tensile strength, hardness, flexibility, resilience, tear resistance, wear resistance and aging resistance.

2. The oil absorption value is 1.5-3.5 cm3/g. The high oil absorption value of white carbon black represents a small structural degree. For products such as ink and coatings, it can play a thickening and extinction role, and for plastic, rubber, and silicone rubber products, it can improve the elongation and tensile strength.

3. Strong chemical stability. White carbon black is insoluble in water, alkaline solutions, and part of acidic solutions. It only soluble in hydrofluoric acid.

4. The structure of white carbon black is porous. It can be used as a carrier for products such as vitamins, powders, and powder fire extinguishing agents, making it easy to stock. It can also be used as a pore forming agent in special PE materials.

5. Strong high-temperature resistance. White carbon black can withstand high temperatures ranging from 1500 to 1600 degrees with low reduction in high-temperature burning.

 

What is Hydrated Silica?
Hydrated silica, also known as white carbon black, is mainly composed of silica, a white amorphous powder, light and loose, soluble in caustic soda and hydrofluoric acid, and insoluble in water, solvent and acid It is mainly used as light color reinforcing agent, lubricant and insulating material in rubber industry. It can be prepared by reacting dilute sodium silicate solution with dilute hydrochloric acid.
